Discovery of the day

Apparently, there’s no group notice cap in InWorldz. I was a member of two help/freebie groups. I hadn’t logged in in months.

…yeah.

Farewell, Arts…welcome new Mystara sim

Artstonia had its last parties today.

The Final Battle (PDF)

The battle occurred off-camera, as it were. This weekend was just parties. Soon, we’ll need to get our stuff, if we’ve not already. My store stuff is still out.

I posted earlier about its closing and don’t have much else to say. As I said, really, I kind of said goodbye to it a while ago. It was my first RP sim, right after I joined, and I met many good people through it and had lots of good times. However, it wasn’t quite the same village as it was when I started, at least insofar as there not being anyone around when I was on. It used to be pretty crazy.

Meanwhile, this same weekend, Mystara opened its second sim. Its first was “destroyed” in a cataclysm that was simply necessary for the reorg. So the Royal Oak has moved. And I think the swamp. All the stores near the tavern, the infirmary…I really didn’t know much else. One of the sim’s strengths is in its build, as it’s very well done, but it also means it’s damn-near impossible to find anything. If I need to meet someone (OK, Gadget) somewhere, I just follow the yellow dot. I guess you could say it’s the downside of all those trees and whatnot. I’m still unclear how its prim count stays under cap…

Gadget is, of course, totally settled in. Relm…she just sits there. Another issue with Mystara, LOL: lots of people, which is obviously good, but it’s very hard to become “known” or to break in to the established systems and relationships.

In unrelated news, I have acquired an iPad2 and can’t put it down. No, seriously, it’s glued to my hands.

Weird

I got a captcha when I signed up to Twitter under my real name, which I didn’t for the store, and I didn’t get the same homepage experience. Hello?

Twitter

A friend of mine is forever hassling me to join Twitter, which I’ve never seen the point of. Well, the store is on it now…it’s just another place for me to post shit no one reads. Go me. But it’s probably more abusable than my blog, which is always a plus.

All dressed up and nowhere to go

I went shopping. 🙂 You can’t tell in this, but she has fancy eyelashes with little glowing jewels.

Kids, it’s the Easter bunny! RUN!

So is this the greatest creation in all of SL or what?

Yep, a shoulder pet Cthulhu with bunny ears and a basket of eggs! It’s like the ultimate in…elder gods dressed as adorable bunnies.

With apologies to whatever poor sad sack of crap wrote this originally, and with thanks to Avatar Bizarre (breeder of Elder Gods)…

Here Comes Cthulhu Cottontail

Here comes Cthulhu Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the elder god trail,
Hippity, hoppity, hippity, hoppity,
Death is on its way.

Bringin’ every girl and guy
A world of madness ‘fore they die,
Things to make their Easter
Dark and gray.

He’s got madness for Tommy,
A painful death for sister Sue,
Of course, he’ll eat your Mommy,
And an eternal nightmare, too. Oh!

Here comes Cthulhu Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the elder god trail,
Hippity hoppity, hippity, hoppity,
A horrific Cthulhu day.

Look at him hop and listen to him decree:
“I’m the future, and I’m the past!
Maybe if you worship me,
…I’ll eat you last.”

You’ll wake up on Easter morning
And you’ll know that he was there
When you find your family eaten,
Blood spattered everywhere.

Oh! here comes Cthulhu Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the elder god trail,
Hippity, hoppity, hippity, hoppity,
A horrific Cthulhu day.

Exploring SL

If you’ve not come across it yet, I recommend Bunky’s blog. He’s trekking across the SL grid, from the SW corner to the NE, sim by sim. Of course, it’s turning out to be a tall order to cross hundreds of sims and blog them all. It’s an interesting slice of SL, though–private homes, gor sims, blocked-off sims, vampires, and lots of breedable horses.

Maybe like a lot of less-new residents (I’m not old), I don’t explore like I used to, insofar as I ever did. I do wish I’d known then what I know now (isn’t that always the way?). I remember spending a lot of time on some mainland sim because I couldn’t leave it–a combination of TP failures and my not understanding how to get around. I saw someone in a Jack-in-the-Box av, with a huge freenis and a joint. Welcome to SL, I guess.

I was very impressed by builds when I was new, realizing that about everything I saw was resident-made. I guess I’ve gotten used to it now, though.
